Obituary - Bennie Lee Neiswinger

Bennie Lee Neiswinger, 88, of Indianapolis passed away on August 19, 2020 at his residence. Bennie was born on June 28, 1932 in Clay City, IN to Samuel C. and Bessie I. (Smith) Neiswinger. He was a graduate of Patricksburg High School, and married Anna Jane Oberholtzer.

Bennie was a chemist for Chrysler for over thirty years. After his retirement, he began driving a school bus: first for Wayne Township Schools and then the Perry Townships Schools. Also in his retirement, Bennie found the time to begin the J.B. Vending Company. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Masonic Lodge No. and Murat Shrine. Bennie loved bowling and watching IU basketball.

Bennie is survived by his daughters: Karen Maines, Wanda Edwards and Julia (Leonard) Bailey; grandchildren: Anna Lee Murphy and Emily Kay Dugger; two great grandchildren; sister, Rosemary Cunningham. Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife and siblings: Gene, Keith, James and Romaine.

Funeral services for Bennie will be held on Tuesday August 25, 2020 at 1:00 PM in Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions 925 East Hanna Avenue Indianapolis. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the services Tuesday.

Obituary - Samuel Clayton Neiswinger

CLAY CITY, Ind. (Special) - Samuel C. Neiswinger, 81, 258 Beem St., Spencer, Ind., formerly of Clay City, died at 7 p.m. Saturday in Hendricks County Hospital, Danville, Ind.

Surviving are the widow, Bessie I.; two daughters, Mrs. Rosemary Cunningham and Miss Romaine Neiswinger, both of Indianapolis; four sons, Gene, Orlando, Fla.; Keith, Terre Haute; James and Bennie, both of Indianapolis; five sisters, Mrs. Dora Leohr, Mrs. Mary White and Mrs. Florence Schlegle, all of Clay City; Mrs. Ellen Young, Patricksburg, Ind., and Mrs. Irene Persinger, Saline City, Ind., a brother, Edward, Clay City; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Arthur officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
