Obituary - Betty May Hostetler Trinkle

Betty M. Trinkle, 101, of Linton, IN, entered Heaven’s gate on Saturday, June 22, 2019. She was born on May 27, 1918, in Clay City, IN, to James R. and Mary A. (Smith) Hostetler. On April 16, 1938, Betty married Orlan A. Trinkle, who preceded in death October 15, 1966.

Betty was a homemaker for many years and, also, worked in the cafeteria at the school and the hospital. She was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church and the Linton Ladies Civitan Club. Betty enjoyed traveling, painting, and working puzzles in her leisure time. Family members were her pride and joy.

Family left to cherish Betty’s memory includes: a daughter, Mira (Daniel) Bowersock of Linton; a daughter-in-law, Judi Trinkle of Linton; Grandchildren: Hannah Mackenzie, Kathy (Morgan) Buck, Sarah (Darren) Denham, Kristy (William) Angleton, Amy (Ricky) Templeton; Great-Grandchildren: Lennie Wheeler, Eddie Mullis, Willow and Vivian Angleton, Abby and Tanner Denham, Bria Stewart, and Parker, Trevor, and Tucker John Templeton; and 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orlan Trinkle, one son, Johnie Trinkle, an infant son, Larry Trinkle, and an infant grandson, Bret Joseph Trinkle.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Betty will be laid to rest in the Linton Fairview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday.

Memorial donations may be made to Gideon Bibles in Betty’s name. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The Trinkle family has entrusted the Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN, with these arrangements. Obituary - Lorene Lydia Thomas Wolf

Lorene Lydia Wolf, 91, passed away at 7:20 pm, January 19, 2009.

She was born in Owen Co September 4, 1917 to Peter and Myrtle Smith Thomas.

On November 26, 1942 she married Robert Mitchell Wolf.

Lorene taught for 33 years at Patricksburg, Clay City, and Coal City Elementary Schools. She attended First United Church of Christ and taught Bible School and Sunday School.

She is preceded by her parents Peter and Myrtle Thomas; husband Robert Wolf and son Tom Wolf.

She is survived by her daughter Sue Crafton and husband Chris, Greencastle, IN ; grandsons Kit Crafton and wife Adrielle and Kevin Crafton and fiancé Ashely Browning; grandchildren Traver Wolf and wife Paige, Tara Secrest and husband Joe and great grandchildren Elyssa Secrest and Noah Crafton; daughter in law Beth Wolf.

Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral home Saturday January 24, 2009 at 4:00pm with Pastor Julie Western officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2pm until time of services.

James Howard Pence - Vietnam Memorial, Washington D.C.

While in Washington D.C. this week I was able to visit the Vietnam Memorial and found James Howard Pence on the wall. He died December 28, 1969 in Quang Nam, Vietnam.

Harvey Walter Boyce Memory of Osborne "Frosty" Traasdahl

"As a youngster, I remember a gentleman by the name of Osborne Traasdahl. To everybody in Boulder City, he was always known as “Frosty” because he had a beautiful white head of hair, and he was a very large man. He’d drive a, I don’t know whether it was a D-6 or a D-4 or whatever, but I remember hours on hours he was out there on that caterpillar grading that land, getting it prepared to start building the high school and the junior high school. So I remember the Boulder City High School being built..."

Obituary - Osborne 'Frosty' Traasdahl

Osborne "Frosty" Traasdahl, 74, of Boulder City, died Friday in Las Vegas.

He was born March 10, 1912, in Grace, Idaho. A 52-year resident of Boulder City, he was a building contractor and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death last week by his son, Roger of Scottsdale, Ariz. He is survived by his wife, Edith of Boulder City; son, Michael of Boulder City; daughters, Madeline Morris of Boulder City, Kareen Bybee of Orem, Utah, Debra Bowman of Pahrump; brothers, Carl of Las Vegas, Edward I. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Ann Fackrell of Ogden, Utah, Irene King of Lewiston, Utah, Mary Louise Pence of Eldora, Iowa; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Tuesday at the LDS Chapel, in Boulder City. Interment was at Palm Boulder City Mausoleum.
